Why he is scared of fishes is never told in the manga... actually its good fanfic material - personally I can see endless posibilities............
Kaito wouldnt get ichthyophobia from Aoko sneaking up on him, since most traumas are related to something bad happening to people in their early childhood.

Well, you've just inspired a 'Why is Kaito Afraid of Fish' fic. And it's depressing and angsty. I hope you're happy! Damnit, you made my imagination run wild so now Kaito is afraid of fish and represing horrible memories that have something to do with his father. *pouts*
I'll post the fic as soon as I get around to writing it, so ya'll'll get to see my veiw soon. Hopefully...

I just Abhor it......Hey everyone has something they are afarid off....I think Gosho got up in 3 in the morning and decided to give me soemthing to fear and suddenly got the idea of fish....

Sounds amusing. I usually hate fanfics, but I've been proven wrong before, and if they've got Kid and are well written, they may be worth reading. After I finish The Twelfth Card.

Well, I'm scared of fish too. I mean, seriously...its some type of phobia towards fish I have since primary school, even before I was introduced to Detective Conan. If my mom ever went to the morning market to buy some fish with me, I make sure that I'm at least 4 metres away from the stall. When my mom cooks fish; yes, I eat fish, but only if its HEAD is not there. And yea, I lose my appetite if it is on. Usually, I would ask my mom to turn the fish the other way round so I can't see its face. My mom knows I'm scared of fish since young. So do my friends. When eating out, my parents make sure we sit FAR away from the aquarium so that I could eat because last time, my parents accused me for faking it out to get attention, and well.....I broke down into tears. A the science lab,get a fish near me and I'll scream the walls down. Even though its nothing but a puny guppy.
My view towards fish:
Fish look scary. Just like Ysabet's fanfic said. Glassy eyes, stiff mouth. When I look at dead fish/fried fish/cooked fish, it stares back at me...somewhat trying to say that I killed them, or that they suffered a horrible death. The way they look at me disgusts my thoughts. Yea, fish never smile, and its feels cold and wet...in addition to their eyes wide open....reminds me of a corpse that got dumped in the water, and was only found a few weeks ago. I'm also scared of fish even though its just only their picture. I'll never touch fish again in my life since the day that incident hapened....NOOOOOOO WAY.........
I HATE FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shiho, so you hate fancy fish too huh? Like those in aquariums? They don't look so scary IMO. I saw a cool looking one the other day with a big fantail. Many also have cool colors. But that's just my opinion.

SPOILER ALERT Mybe it's because Aoko surprised him by sneaking up behind him at school with a fish she had brought to school and it swallowed the gem that he had stolen the night before in the manga? That's TWO reasons to be scared of fish. No it can't be that. He was scared of fish BEFORE that happened  ;; |
