It's a book that contains information of particular animes per volume. This volume is of course for Case Closed. I'm still reading it, but so far it uses the dubbed titled for the series and the term Junior Detective League. The rest is the original Japanese names.
It is about 190 pages. It's questions and answers type information about the series. It contains a small profile summary for the major characters and has an episode guide up to "Furinkazan Murder Case".
Just thought I'd mention it.

Interesting. I hadn't known there were publications covering it. I know one encyclopedia had an article about Magic Kaito but for the most part Gosho's series go unnoticed or just mentioned.
I'll pick this one up.

Sorry for the double post but this has to go seperate.
I don't know where these people are getting their information but I already spotted errors or unsupported claims. -Makoto going to Ran and Sonoko's school when he goes to a different school - only seeing the both of them once previously at a Karate Tournament. -Haibara and Akemi BOTH growing up in the States. To my knowledge they were seperated early though allowed visits. Was this information in the drill? -And this one takes the cake - that Eri left him because he spent the night partying after a successful end to a case ten years ago. Was this in the drill too?
This book is a major spoiler alert for all the people who are waiting for the Case Closed releases rather than reading scans. I'm hoping it does prompt VIZ to release the Conan drill way before Volume 41.
Edit:
Quote: [When talking about the relationship between Gin and Haibara] "He and Ai were deeply involved at one point. He was once able to identify a strand of hair from Shiho Miyano (Haibara's adult self) on sight, and according to Vermouth, the two of them were sexually involved."
Is this major news to anyone too? I mean sure we all figured (though rape sounds more likely) but Vermouth saying that!? For serious, where are these people getting their information?
Last edit: Not worth buying guys. None of this author's claims are supported or cited to actual manga volumes. They say "Aoyama said this," "Aoyama said that," and considering American fans don't have access to the many Japanese articles that do have real information - this is taking advantage of that. Also as this is an unofficial "Essential Guide" they should put a more scholarly effort into it - rather than putting out a piece of "fill in the blank," speculative rag.

the Amazon description states that: "In this first-of-its-kind anime fanbook, the reader is taken on an intriguing tour through the world of Detective Conan, the star of Cased Closed, the hit anime that is wowing audiences the world over. Brimming with character bios, hidden clues, truths and legends, and behind-the-scenes gossip, this illustrated sourcebook is an essential tool for all fans. " so it's mostly behind-the-scenes gossip? aka unverified slander. You don't even have to check the drill to know that the things you found are just plain wrong and contradict with the manga. As a matter of fact.... how legal is it to make money on another person's franchise? if it isn't, I would seriously consider giving VIZ an anonymous tip about someone milking their property. Just a thought.

Yeah, whoever wants to make that call - do so! (And to Del Rey too. Cocoro books have put out similar books for a variety of series and if they're on the level of this book, I don't see why they should get away with it.) [I'm going to return it and get another book]
