Welcome to teh thread of disappointments. I am your host Fruits; here to inform you of Conan DVDS on the markets! =D Have any questions and/or comments after this FAQ, feel free to PM me.
---- Q: like where can i get conan dvds that r not cased closed and hav english subtitles and r detective conan?
---- A: You can get em; somewhere, but it's not my job to tell you where per se. You see, any Detective Conan DVD with english subtitles that does NOT have the Case Closed logo on the front is 100% bootleg. They are also region free (see more info below). Legal Conan DVDS can be purchased seperately, and i'm sure you'll notice the difference after I post pictures.
---- Q: i dont want cased closed dvds cause i hate the dub so wat r my options here?? buy bootlegs??
---- A: So sue me for saying this, but... buying the Case Closed DVDs are advised. They come with dual-language, so yes... you can watch em with the japanese dialogue and english translation subtitles, just in case your ears are not immune to the dub. Whereas with bootlegs, the english subs are poor... Then again, you could buy the legal ones on amazon.jp .
---- Q: how will i kno the difference in bootleg or legal?
---- A: Ah, young grasshopper. You have asked a good question. Most sites selling these bootlegs will always say something along the lines of 'region free... with english subtitles'. That automatically tells you they're bootleg. Other examples are the pictures of the covers.
Examples of Bootleg DVD covers:
Their legit copies:
PM with such useless garbage as in the sites of the bootlegs, and I might just happen to go off on you. Warning in advance just in case. Questions that involve telling the difference with bootlegs or legit are fine.
Also, if I see anyone posting about where to buy the DVDs again in a new thread, I will lock your thread and link to this one. I really hope there is no controversy on this matter.
Extras: Region DVD stuffz. Dunno what it is? It's quite simple. The bootlegs of Conan are region free, as in they will work with any DVD player. If you like getting crap; go ahead, look for the bootlegs, don't let me stop ya.
Here's the list of regions, etc. Note, legitimate Conan DVDS only work with a region 2 DVD player, unless you happen to have an all region one handy. Case Closed DVDS work with region 1.
