taken from anime news network
The hometown of Gosho Aoyama, Hokuei-chô in Tottori-ken, will create Aoyama Gôshô Furusato-kan, a museum honoring the creator of Meitantei Conan (Case Closed).
The Hokuei-chô cultural facility currently has a section about Aoyama and the town will remodel the cultural facility exhibit into Aoyama Gôshô Furusato-kan. The budget for the museum is approximately one 194 million yen (US$1.65 Million).
Aoyama Gôshô Furusato-kan will open in March of 2007. There will be a display with the North America version of the Case Closed manga, released by Viz Media.
Hokuei-chô has already done several machi okoshi projects related to Meitantei Conan, including Conan Bridge across the River Yura and Conan statues in the town.

Watch by the end of Aoyama's career that town will be covered in DC themed attractions.

You're not the only one. Sounds interesting. I wonder how the popularity rates will go in future years.
