sheesh i really wonder if kaito's that good that he doesn't leave any evidence... in one of the stories in the MK manga, hakuba got a strand of hair from KID...why don't they test that for DNA? and in the nightmare story, KID left his glove so that must contain some DNA as well
don't get me wrong i don't want KID to be caught (am a KID fangirl myself) but it's just baffling why it seems like no one at the interpol is working hard enough to catch him....

Hakuba tested that hair for DNA. However, instead of parentry, he tried to analyse character traits from all that. Icka's MK page has a full report on the details.

Not everyone's DNA is in the database...so even if they got the DNA of Kid, they'd need to DNA everyone in Japan.

Then again, if Kaito is a possible suspect, at least in Hakuba's eyes, the the detective just could get his hair too and analise it and tadam... proof appears.
But i this point of view MK is not as serious manga as DC, so...

Even so, if Hakuba knew his identity and who he was, he would still keep it to himself as a secret. Kaito kid isn't such a bad guy

usually only victims with bad things like murder or sth. like that come into a database, but not e.g. stealer of cars etc..

DNA testing can take months. The fastest is 1-3 weeks with state-of-the-art American ones.

Let's forget the fact on this one. I even resolved not to nitpick details on pre-Conanian MK.
