Konichiwa! Please can anyone tell me waht's the difference between hiragana and katakana???..

Hiragana is their basic alphabet and is used for japanese words and katakana on the other hand is used for foreign words and a couple other things like onomatopoeias (sounds) sometimes
e.g. : 牛乳 (ぎゅうにゅう) (gyunyu): japanese word for milk ミルク (miruku): derived from the english word 'milk'
Pd. After learning those you learn kanjis which let you write (and read) things you'd write with hiragana faster (if you know them of course, haha)
