English is global language, which is teeming with idioms...
What's an idiom? According to Dr Tan Cheng Lim, an idiom can be defined as a group of words strung together to assume a specific meaning different from the meaning of each individual word. So, in basic it means a group of words which have own characteristic..
all right time for the lesson ^-^ 1st lesson..
* illustrative of something: to show something. example: Always read the sentences illustrative of the use of a word or expression.
* sandwiched between/ in between two person or things: to be squashed between two person or things; to be inserted. example: Our car is sandwiched between two big trucks.
# from that sample we can see the different.. idioms cannot have the same mean as the individual word.
