Hello everybody. With my frist post in this forum I would like to share the fanfiction I write. I hope you like it. Constructive criticism is appreciated as I love to write and to improve my writing. If there is interest I can post more of it. - Yuki Chapter 1 - One lonely nightChapter 1 - One lonely night Through the thick curtains the moons light only shone through dimly. Illuminating the room darkly. He was used to the darkness as he had been lying awake for quite some time, so he could see the frame of the flower Ran had left in his room right next to his Detective Boys badge. She had said it would brighten up the atmosphere so he and his vivid friends could play in a more friendly room. Indeed the room except was not decorated much. Not many toys or other stuff, only the bed, the closet and a few devices that came useful when he was involved in a case. But something was making this room reside in darkness, darkness so deep it would let perish any bright thought born here. As the minutes slowly ticked away in the mechanical clock on his desk, he stared at the frame of the flower. It was an orchid. A beautiful flower like Ran was, so beautiful he adored her so much that he hardly could tear his eyes from her. But his situation was clouding his mind. He still after two years of trying was shrunk and still could not tell Ran the truth. It was heart-breaking to see how lonely she was sometimes and he could not do something about it. He to felt this loneliness inside of him and no one could make it vanish as long he did not finish off the Black Organisation. His heart got heavy every time he thought of it and this was what made the room so very dark. He turned around under his blanket trying to find a more comfortable position to finally be taken into the realm of dreams but he was alerted, nearly shocked as a loud clonk right behind him tried to penetrate the carpet. Something had fallen off the bed. And Conan's mind knew that it could only be one thing. His cellphone that he kept hidden under his pillow to not give his love the opportunity to scan through his mails and see all the mails from her to Shinichi he so cherished. She again would catch the doubt that he was Shinichi but he could not let her not that indeed, he Conan was Shinichi. He just could not. Nevertheless he nearly every night read the messages sent to him. Words from Ran to him Shinichi and not to his shrunk self. It was a relief and curse to read them every night. Every time he read them he knew that she had not forgotten him. But as soon as he seeked sleep the melancholic feeling would again keep him awake. Worrying about the future, worrying about her and his relationship to her. He picked it up and stared at it. He assumed it was alright to write a mail. She would tomorrow see the mail before going to school, seeing he still had her in his mind. Her smile at the breakfast would be genuine happy and cheerful. A smile flew over his face as he typed the message and finally sent it after reading once over it. “Ran, I miss you.” Conan closed his cellphone and hid it under his pillow before closing his eyes again. But were teared open fast as only a few minutes later the tapping sound of to slender feet got audible on the floor. Dismissing the possible burglar as a member of the family going to the toilet, he turned around another time. His heart jumped rapidly as the door to his room opened quietly and a slender feminine girl slowly snuck in, closing the door as carefully as she had opened it. With light taps she now came to the bad, careful to not wake the sleeping Conan. But his heartbeat was sounding heavily in his ears. The blanket got lifted lightly behind him. A new warmth surrounded him as two arms clutched his small body to the firm but soft body of the nightly intruder. He felt awkwardly happy yet nervous at this warm sensation. She was so close to him. So very close. He could feel her breath on his skin only an inch away. “Shinichi, I miss you to.” her voice said softly as she pulled him just a little closer. ---------- If you want more say so

As you wish here comes chapter 2. ^^
--- Chapter 2 – Confusion
Conan had not slept so good in months, it was warm comforting and lovely. He could sense Ran's frame against his' even in his dreams he thought. Nestled like a couple they had found sleep in each others comforting warmth but as the revealing light slowly crept into his room the warmth was gone. Now he was worried.
In his shock he sat up sweating heavily. What should he do now? Was it a dream? If not did Ran know the truth about him? Questions ran through his head and he did not find a solution. Conan needed more time, he really needed more time to assess the situation he was in. So for him there was only one solution now, he needed to escape from the apartment. He could hide at professor Agasa's house. As the thought was completed his utensils for investigations were grabbed and he disappeared through the window.
Now walking at the street having the cool autumn wind gently breezing through his air, his fear of seeing Ran slowly subsided and he could think more clearly now. Leaving the Beika street he slowly took the side walk to Agasa's house. He probably would need to come up with another disguise story to shield his identity as Shinichi from Ran again. --
„Say Satou-san isn't that Conan there walking?“ Takagi said. Miwako looked around a little startled by his words.
„Huh, you are right. But out so early? It is Sunday, so he does not have school. I wonder what he is up to.“ she replied cheerfully giving him a sweet smile. Takagi blushed heavily. He still was not used to Satou Miwako clinging to his arm and giving him sweet looks. Still the old pictures of her strong officerness where in his mind but her soft side appealing to him very much. --
Oblivious of the slight stares from the happily breakfast eating couple in a café near Mouri Kogoro's office Conan after about 30 minutes of walking reached professor Agasa's house. He rang the doorbell hoping to find shelter soon. Opening the door was not professor Agasa but Ai who still lived with him. Yawning right into his face she said in her usual sharp tone:
„What do you do here so early? We were still sleeping comfortable.“
„I got a problem...“ Conan replied.
Ten minutes later they sat at the professors kitchen table having the tea. Ai Haibara still half asleep listening to what had happened last night. Sipping slowly on her cup of tea.
„You have a problem there.“ she said smiling.
„Tell me something new Haibara.“ Conan snapped.
„You are so rude today..“ she yawned.
„We need to set up another disguise again. Showing her hard evidence that I am not Shinichi. Ahhh... I do not have any idea...“ sighing he sipped on his cup of tea.
„What about breakfast?“ Ai said not waiting for an answer but immediately starting to rummage trough the kitchen. Taking out various things and foods scattering them around on the kitchen table.
„Are you sure that you know what you do Ai?“ Conan asked with doubt.
„Better be careful Shinichi Kudo! I may not be a good chef but I am the one treating you to breakfast so you better shut up or I call Ran!“ Ai snapped back with faked anger. For her it was always interesting to talk with this person. He was fun to tease and still so very understanding when needed. To see him in this pinch was really entertaining for her. But something was odd there, something felt unwell in her chest.
They were just eating Ai's nearly lovely tasting rice as the phone started to ring. She stood up and walked to the phone. Inhaling deeply she picked up the phone saying:
„Hello? Who is there?“
She did not receive and answer but a loud: „Beep, beep, beep.“
„Whoever it was has cancelled the call already.“ She said shrugging with her shoulders to Shinichi's questioning look.
Ai's and Conan's eyes went wide as professor Agasa slowly walked down the stairs, seemingly talking with someone on the phone. Looking rather surprised at Conan's presence he said into the micro of the phone:
„Ah... yes Ran. Conan-kun is here, having breakfast with Ai-chan.“ a few moments later replying into the phone: „Yes I will tell him to wait for you.“
With that he hung up and sat down on the kitchen table.
„Shinichi, Ran comes to pick you up in half an hour. She said she wanted to visit Marine Island with you.“
Conan was not able to speak and just stared with wide eyes at the phone Agasa held. Only 30 minutes and his cover had been blown up already. Fate was really cruel today. Ai however just smiled again and then told the professor Shinichi's problem.
„I guess we better leave now Shinichi.“ Haibara Ai said dragging the still shocked Conan to the door.
„I am really sorry Shinichi!“ both heard Agasa shouting as Ai closed the door soundly.
Ai sighed lightly and then grabbed Conan's hand, dragging him softly in the direction of the subway. They could easily avoid Ran for now but it would get harder when she would call for help. On one side Ai liked the thought of Shinichi being discovered by Ran and the possible outcome of this. Ai had the feeling that should make a move soon or her chances would run really thin even if Ran would reject Shinichi now. For now she would tag along with Conan and help him a little in his pinch.
He had a weird feeling about his whole situation. Running away from Run, and probably soon to be chased again. Additionally to that Haibara was behaving strange today. She held his hand firm as they entered the subway station. It was comforting what she was doing but somehow irritating to. He just was so confused. ---
Tell me what you think. I got plenty more ^^

Chapter 3 - Twice troubled
They had ridden a few stations in the subway until Ai dragged him out saying she wanted to visit a café to have a drink. Conan actually wanted to go a little farther to avoid being caught in the reach of the now surely searching Ran. They entered a French café. Ai had a strange smile on her lips, lips which somehow looked so full today. She seemingly enjoyed the trip with him for some reason.
“Let's have some nice coffee Shinichi” she said cheerfully. Conan frowned at here cheery attitude, he was in a pinch and she enjoyed it very much it seemed.
“Yeah, whatever...” he replied.
“Come on. Do not be so grumpy, I am sure it will turn out fine. So and while we are hiding lets have some fun.” she concluded.
After he sipped on his hot French coffee, he suddenly had an idea. He now had a plan how to deceive Ran again but thus it had to work first. While Conan whispered his new hope into Ai's ear she seemingly had other thoughts, only spending half of her attention to his vague plan.
“We must hurry and find what I need!” he stood up slapped some money onto the table and stormed out of the room.
Slow minutes passed when they again rode the subway, now to the central station. While Ai was silently watching Conan. He talked with professor Agasa on the phone:
“So, Ran threatened to smash your computer if you would not tell her where I was? What did you say?”
“Ah, I see professor that seems fine, please remember what I told you.” with this he pressed to red button on his phone and only the rattering sound of the rails was humming in their silence. His eyes again caught Ai's watching him softly. He could not help but to stare back thus he blushed a little.
“Hm? Shinichi? You cannot even look into my eyes for a minute without blushing. You are such a innocent sheep.” she giggled while Conan blushed even harder.
He thought he would never understand women, those creatures full of secrets.
The speakers announced the next halt, it the station next to the professor's house. They still had quite some stations to go before reaching their destination but to Shinichi's surprise Haibara moved when the tone from the speaker ceased. Before he could react she had lip locked with him giving him a gently kiss while embracing him tightly.
A kiss, a strange feeling it was. It was soft and tender, filling his body with a warm feeling. Her soft body against his providing him with the strength to not get lost in this feeling.
He did not realize it only lasted a few moments but as soon as the subway stopped it was gone and Haibara Ai was standing at the exit of their train. Smiling warmly at him saying :
“If you change your mind I will be waiting for you Shinichi.”
She then stepped out, the door closed and the train moved on, containing a confused little kid. -- Stepping out of the train she felt relieved. She finally had confessed what had troubling her for a long time. Even though he foolishly was in love with Ran she could not give up the hope. Her hope now was that her confession would get his attention to her, so he maybe would free himself of Ran. She was playing dirty in this foolish lover's game but Ai knew what she wanted and she would rather die than not try.
Ascending the stairs which led out of the station she wrote a message on a phone and when she felt the wind gently move her bangs she hit the send button. A confirmation message popping up: “Message sent to Mouri Ran”
Oh yes, she thought. She really was playing dirty but she would not lose. Telling Ran what Shinichi was about to do surely was mean but she hoped it would help her battle for his attention. She easily could imagine them breaking up when discovering the truth and then she would be there for the broken heart, catching and tending it gently.
The kiss had felt good, she liked Shinichi's soft lips and the innocent being he was made it even more interesting. She was eager to feel him in her arms again. Embrace and kiss him. Oh why had she fallen in love with this boy? --
The warm feeling was gone but the impression lasted longer. He had not moved since she had broken the kiss. It felt good, it felt right. But was it right? His heart was beating only for a certain girl, so why felt the tenderness Haibara had expressed so nice? So welcoming? His head was full of questions as he finally moved again to leave the train at the central station.
The station was big and widespread, perfect for the first part of his plan. He expected to have the police on his heels soon, as the Mouris were close to quite a few officers. So he had to lure them away from him. Luckily he got a spare phone from the professor so he could still make calls even if the police tried to track him down via his usual mobile phone. Conan had figured out that putting the phone into a locker in the central station was an good idea, so it would even if they joined forces with the police take some time to find out that it was a decoy.
But currently his normally calm and focused was cross-cutting only between two scenes in his mind. A warm embrace and a tender kiss. A warm embrace and a tender kiss. A warm embrace and a tender kiss. A ever-lasting love and a newly risen star. He shook his head as he entered the main lockers hall. He could not be distracted now or he would be uncovered for sure. The visit to Marine Island surely would get him a lot of bruises if it would take place. But he would not give in, he would escape another time.
------ Hehe poor Conan I would if I were not writing this story. ^^

Here is the next chapter.
---- Chased
He just wanted to turn around and leave the hall as he saw his host family entering it through the farthest door, sending wary looks into all directions. Panicking a little he tried to conceal himself in the passing crowd. Luck was on his side as he could escape the hall without being seen, but as soon as he left the room with his persecutors he had to dive for cover behind a trash bin when two policemen passed by.
Had they contacted the police already? Had they located his mobile already? He did not know why but his decoy had not worked and so the bonus in time he had hoped for vanished right before his eyes. Furthermore he could not say if the police was on his heels now or not. Conan now could not dare anything regarding this so evading the policemen was the best choice he had.
“Hey, Conan why are you hiding?” Conan jerked up, hitting his head on the wall next to the trash bin he had been hiding behind.
“Ow....! Takagi-san what are you doing here?” Shinichi asked.
“Um... well... Satou-san and I were having breakfast near to your home and a few hours ago you passed by and we wondered what you were up to. Then Satou-san got a call and had to leave but did not tell me a thing about it. It is weird for her not to tell me about a simple call, so I tried to find you. Maybe you can help me to find out what this strange call means.” Takagi explained to the little boy.
“First of all you should run as Satou-san just entered on the opposite of this hall!” Conan yelled at the young police officer.
Both did not want to be caught by the tough police woman Satou Miwako was, so they kept running until they reached Takagi's car. A black and pretty small Toyata.
“That was close...” Conan said and both sighed in unison. They now were driving destinationless through the city. Thinking of what Miwako's call was about and how Conan could escape Ran's wrath.
“So you broke Ran's cell phone and do not want to be caught by Ran until you bought a substitute?” the driver asked after Conan explained his situation.
“Yes... basically. I am lucky that I saved up enough money to buy her a new cell phone. I know of a good place where to buy it. Please drive to the south of Tokyo's shopping district.”
Conan's request was approved by a nod of Takagi. --
She could bet that the man in the grey suit who just ran off, down to the parking lot was Takagi-kun. She really would bet anything about that matter. But Miwako would have time to question him later, more precise this evening, because they agreed to have dinner together to on one of their rare free days. The case now was to find Conan Edogawa, the small genius kid currently living with the Mouri family. Ran had asked her to help for the little kid, as he left without notice and did not show any intentions to call back or something. There was something important going on if this kid was so unresponsive and as she was quite close to the Mouri's she was happy to help.
They already had confirmed the location of Conan's cell phone. Tracking him down was just a matter of time and coincidentally the kid hid in the central station. This surely was a huge place but due to the cell phone tracker he would be found soon. A kid was still a kid and could not deceive adults so easy by just hiding in a big crowd. A small but sinister smile crossed her lips. Today she would get a small but satisfying revenge on the helpful child who sometimes let her standing there dumbfounded. She with capturing him would regain some of her pride as police officer again.
“Satou-san! Satou-san! Over here!” A voice she recognized as Ran's yelled. She turned around and saw the famous detective and his daughter at the entrance of the locker hall.
“Good day detective Mouri. Good day Ran.” Satou greeted the pair.
“Have you found Conan-kun yet?” Ran eagerly asked Miss Satou.
“No, not yet but we know where his cell phone is and he is probably there to. The phone is in the locker hall behind you.” the police woman answered.
“Really? We just walked through it and did not see him.” Ran told Miwako in a nearly accusing tone.
“Well maybe he hid behind something or you just overlooked him.” at this she received a glare from Ran: “Well we just go through once more and call his mobile while we are at it, maybe he forgot to turn off the sound and we will get him by his ring tone.”
“Yes” Ran responded enthusiastic, fiercely typing Conan's phone number on her phone. She hit the call button and they entered the hall. As before when they entered the hall it was loud and busy. They could not hear very well as phones rang, people yelled and spoke to each other. It would not be easy to find Conan here but nevertheless they had to try. It was good that Conan had chosen a ring tone which was easy to recognize. It was children's song, easy to remember and to sing along.
As soon as this tune would reach their ear they would have him and there would be no escape. Ran would pin him down to the ground if he tried to escape. She smiled lightly. Yes he had no chance.
Walking slowly through the crowded hall the trio silently looked for the little boy with his big glasses. They were expecting him to pop up very soon, unaware and then easy to catch. Several minutes passed until Ran's ear was alerted by a melody. A familiar melody. She knew it, just behind this row of lockers he was hiding! She took the chance and jumped around the corner.
But where was he? Where? She was standing right before locker for luggage. The tune happily drumming inside the space of the locker. Kogoro and Miwako were clueless to. When they opened the locker only his cell phone was there. Had he deceived them another time? He had. He had escaped another time. Yet the anger in her which she closed the door violently had no resignation in it. Oh no she would get him! She swore it to herself.
“Let's go and search him!” she shouted at her two companions.

As you wish here comes chapter 5.
--- Chapter 5 – Betrayed
They had searched the entire station yet they did not find Conan. Miwako had left to ask the officers on watch if they had seen the little boy and Kogoro complained that when Conan would get hungry he will come back for sure. So only she was on active look out for the boy. Ran had bought a hot coffee and now was sitting in the main hall looking around attentivly. How could he escape her? She would make sure he would not escape again. Sipping on her coffee she was trying to figure out how to reduce the debris when she was done with him as Miwako came into her sight. Smiling she waved at her. As the officer approached Ran watched her expecting some news.
“Conan was definitely here in the station. The officer at the parking lot entrance saw him leaving.” Satou-san reported to the now grinning Ran.
“But what did he want in the parking lot? Did he place another decoy there?” she asked.
“I thought that you would ask that but obviously there is no decoy this time as he entered the lot together with Takagi-kun. That is why we will get him. He now is with Takagi.” Miwako replied cheerfully.
She took out her mobile phone and called a number. When the beeping numbers were silenced someone picked up on the other end. Satou-san said:
“Hello Takagi-kun!” --
They were just twenty minutes away from the central station as Takagi's cell phone started to ring. Hastily he took it out and responded to the call:
“Hello?”
“Why do you know that?” he questioned the person who called him.
“Ah, I see that is what it was about. And now you want me to do that? But I cannot do that, it is not possible.” he paused waiting for the answer and as he received it he sighed and answered: “OK. I will do that inspector Megure.”
When he had put away the phone Conan glanced at him questioningly asking:
“What did inspector Megure want from you?”
At this Takagi hesitated a little scratching his head:
“You know there was this case where one woman committed suicide and as I was leading the investigations I have to write a report. I did not finish it since yet and inspector Megure is waiting for it.” he sighed: “I guess I cannot have dinner with Satou-san today. Hear we get this cell phone fast and then I will give you a ride to the nearest train station so you can do whatever you want then, so I can write my report this evening. If I do not not inspector Megure will kill me.” he sighed another time.
“Takagi-san. Sometimes one cannot be with the one he loves but whenever there is the possibility be as close to them as you can. You never know when or if you will see them again.” Conan said melancholicly gazing out of the window. Silence took place for the words he said before.
Takagi driving the car wondered how a child could express something like that. It was as if he knew what he was talking about. But Wataru was sure that he would take this advise. He would be with Satou-san as long as he could. --
“I know you are with Conan-kun. I was asked by Ran to look for him as she is searching for him, so I need you to do me a favour. Please bring Conan to the southern station of the shopping district. Ran will pick him up from there.” she told Takagi through the phone.
“What does that mean? You cannot do that? Please that is nothing with being honest. Ran was searching for him all day and Conan-kun simply ran away from home. So returning him, even against his will is nothing bad.” she paused: “Additionally to that if that drags on I will not be home for our dinner because I have to help Ran to find him.” Miwako said softly.
When she ended the call she smiled brightly as before. She had still her date with Takagi-kun and had helped Ran to fetch the escaper.
“We got him Ran. This time we got him.”
“Really?” Ran beamed brightly at Miwako: “These are great news. I really was worried about him.”
“I said I would help you. So now you go to the southern train station of the shopping district. Takagi-kun will bring him there.” Officer Satou said.
“You are not coming with us? I was thinking of having dinner together with you and your sweetheart.” the younger girl asked hopeful.
“I am sorry.” Miwako replied a little blushing: “I am meeting with Takagi-kun for dinner this evening already and I need to prepare myself for that so I cannot come with you, nor can I have dinner with you. That is something for only me and Takagi-kun.” she already was turning around and leaving as she spoke the last words more to herself than to Ran. It was a sweet dream she was having. She really was happy since she was with him. He was so nice, so caring. She could rely on him and let herself be herself without needing to care about others. There was only her and him. Oh what a sweet dream she thought. --
“No professor! I really do not want tea now. Just leave me alone for now.” Ai replied a little annoyed to professor Agasa's offer to have tea in the living room. She now just wanted to be for herself. Actually she did not want to be only with herself but the only one she wanted here still was struggling to escape the fangs of his children's love.
Shiho cuddled into her pillow, seeking solace in its warmth but still the kiss she gave Shinichi burned on her lips. She knew that he was in love with Ran and that made her sad to the point of crying. The one she wanted to fight for. The one she had slowly fallen in love with was hopelessly in love with a girl out of his reach. Finally there was someone she trusted. Someone she could rely on. Yet it was only a slight chance she had. Only fate would help her now. It was making her cry.
