Yeah I watched it too... the movie was good.
But the part with the bugs was SUPER DISGUSTING! Anyway the grubs ...
The ending... I didnt quite get. --- "NO... IT WAS BEAUTY KILLED THE BEAST" ---last sentence of the movie.
I mean what the hell was that?! can someone PLEASE explain to me HOW that fit.
King Kong died of exhastion. Of course all caused by the girl offered to him. The fight with the T-rexs and the fight with the bats. and the fight with the humans, and the fight with New York City... and the planes... all that tired him out too much for him to still survive.
BUT NONE of those were mentioned in the end. NONE of the things killed him.. the combination of things killed him. and the last line doesnt explain all and isnt (in my opinion) sufficient for a final remark.

It was alright, but I didn't like how they tried creating depth by squeezing in action, adventure, romance, comedy and tragedy all into one film. Not only did that rush the storyline, it also made a mess of the movie. My guess is that most people went see King Kong for the simple pleasure of viewing a giant gorilla maiming dinosaurs and smashing things. So why did they have to try and make it meaningful by adding poorly developed human relationships and stuff like "NO, IT WAS BEAUTY KILLED THE BEAST" (thanks for the line MIC.) I guess the problem with remakes of old films is that now the scripts are overly clich¨¦d. Maybe the first King Kong was unique and indeed a masterpiece, but we've gone 70 years from then. As for the for the new King Kong, I can say that it had beautifully generated computer graphics that was impressive to watch. Because a gorilla can't talk, they had to rely on actions and eye contact for him to communicate with Ann Darrow. I found that kinda sweet at times, so it wasn't all bad -but not great.

The whole "Beauty killed the beast" line is from the original movie. ((Which sucked, the lines Ann Darrow used with the other actor when they were shooting the movie was how the actually original movie was.))

So that explains the churning in my sides every time someone opens their mouth. Sorry, but if there's one thing that really kills a movie for me it's bad scripting. I figured they must've used some of the lines from the original movie, but not the whole thing. BTW, no offence Nat. I'm just expressing my opinion, no one has to agree with it.
