Movie Info: In The Last Unicorn, one unicorn stands guard over a small forest. When she overhears two human hunters say that she is the last remaining unicorn left in the world, she leaves the woods to travel to the kingdom of King Haggard to find the truth. Taken from movies.comThis is one of my favorate childhood films that I first saw with my sister. Just today I found out a piece of info about the movie that I never knew before. "As for the animation, it was a joint US-Japanese production with Rankin - Bass handling the US side (story, music, dialog) and the Japanese group handling the animation. The anime style of characters and animation is so strong in this movie that many people (myself included) classify it as an anime movie even though it was primarily a US production."Info taken from utd500.utdallas.edu/~hairston/lastunicorn.htmlO.O Let me tell you I went HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP when I found that out. XD So anyone else here know the story? The book and/or movie.

this film is frequently attributed to Hayao Miyazaki, possibly because he was one of the first Japanese filmmakers to be contacted for this job, but he did not work on it. Little Nemo in Slumberland is another such movie. Miyazaki was actually involved with some pre-production work on that film, but in the end another filmmaker worked on it instead. I've known this for a while >.>;; but I have yet to see the last unicorn.

It's not really an anime though. It's an American production. Most people do classify it as and anime since the animation was done in Japan but the story, music and dialog itself was done in the US. So like I said it's not really an anime.
