Anyone believe in God? Anyone believe + follow God?
Dw, you won't be bagged for not believing or believing in God.
I believe in God for a number of reasons, and they're fairly good reasons. I'm Christian but not Catholic.
Feel free to question anything about it, I should have the answers.

I can already see what this might turn into... So I'm just going to say it: I thought we kinda locked all threads regarding religion/gods/etc. >_>; I might be mistaken. Maybe someone will reply regarding this as I really can't remember. Last time we had something like this a bunch of fights started about it.

Well I've been reading probs the last 3 pages of that thread. I think theres sufficient Questions and Answers and therefore I don't believe this topic serves a reason enough to exist further. Delete please Don't lock!

Religion is the great divider, no doubt about that. The controversial history of just about any organized religion makes it an even more dangerous topic. The only mature way to avoid flaming and division according to religions altogether is to approach the topic from a theological angle. Let's not discuss the god/gods people believe in/don't believe in but the nature of god with sane reasoning. Belief is essentially the opposite of reason, but if we have to discuss theology it will have to be on reason's premises. Only, it requires members to be mature. This is how we could approach the topic - avoid mentioning organized religions at all.

I tend to have a belief in God that I can't let go of...I love to look at the Universe in different ways, and I have my own strange hypothesis as to how Infinity works, but no matter what it just seems strange to me to say that I don't believe in an absolute, higher power, even if it does, for the most part, contradict my perception of the universe...I've also thought that perhaps the soul does not exist, and everything that makes us who we are depends on genetic makeup, neurology and unique experiences. After all, we cannot see or feel the 'self' that sees and experiences, and believes. It's sort of like the point of view in a landscape painting. Maybe it's there, but no matter how we try we cannot see it unless we make up what it supposedly looks like.
But then, what's perceiving that creation?
Yeah...I suppose I can't shake the belief in a God of some sort, and prayer has become a habit over the years..
But I don't really know.

No doubt? Woah thats pretty strong.
Personally I don't like the Catholic church, I never felt I belonged in it and their ways of teaching is unclear and illogical...hence why I became a Christian instead.

After that question is asked, don't bring up the different religions again. If the question is answered, don't reply to it regarding it.
What Kentaru said seems logical and can prevent useless arguing... so yeah. I'm going with what he said and keeping the thread open only if no certain religions are mentioned again.

...If we argue about it, people will learn about other people's arguments and therefore more knowledge...This thread so far doesn't have any rediculous or 'immature' posts yet.

Oh, so it wasn't immature to kinda lash out at that dude for saying 'no doubt?' So he has no doubt; big deal. And yeah, criticizing the Catholic church wasn't immature either. Keep it to yourself, dude. Someone might find what you said about their church a bad comment.
And after past experiences, I'm saying this for the good of the forum. The topic is 'do you believe in God?' not 'do you believe in God and if so, what does that have to do with the religion you're with?' Do you see where I'm going with this? Good. No more discussion on the matter.
And if you're interested in my opinion: yes, I do believe in God.

And I do agree with Fruitsbsk.
