hmm.... What does everyones last name mean? Another name theme in Magic Kaito is nature and animals. Kuroba(everyone seems to know this for some reason), Kuro=Black, Ba(literal word is 'hane')=Feather, so Kuroba is "black feather"Nakamori means, Naka=inside or middle, Mori=forest, so Nakamori is "inside the forest" or "middle of a forest"Hakuba means, Haku(literal word is 'shiro' or 'shiroi')=white, Ba(literal word is 'uma')=horse, so Hakuba is "white horse"I've never seen the kanji for Akako's last name (Could someone PLEASE post a sample?)but, my best guess is, Ko(could also be 'chisana')=small or little, Izumi=spring or fountain, so Koizumi means "little spring"No one ever seems to go into this but, Kaito's first name is made of 2 kanji's being: Kai(lit. word kokoroyoi)=pleasant or happy To='The Big Dipper' star constalation (But I'm not sure how to put Kaito's name into one clean translationXP) Yeah, it's MUCH different from "Kaitou"(note how there's that "ou" which indicates a long "O" sound whereas "Kaito" has a short "O"^_^) which is Kai(lit. word ayashii)=suspious; mystery, and Tou(lit. word nusumu)=steal; theif, which every fan knows to be translated as "Phantom Theif" ;D No one ever goes over this either but Hakuba's first name "Saguru" means search; look for; to reach about uncertainly(which pretty much describes what a dectective's job is-Looking for answers and the truth of the unexplainable ;)Might explain why he's so into that line of work...) And here's an intersting tidbit: The Japanese word for 'clover' (yes, the design on KID's monocle charm thingy)is "Kurouba" or sometimes "Kurooba"(I guess Gosho Aoyama likes the whole, long vowel=similar but different word thing;))

'Fumiyo' is also the name Becky Tailweaver used for Kaito's Mom in 'Relative Truth'. Ysabet used 'Hikarue' for Kaito's mom in her Windfall series. Lessee.... So far I've been lucky enough to avoid using Kaito's mom's name, but we did use 'Kinko' for Aoko's mom in my 'Shades of Grey 'fic. Aoko's Dad is 'Ginzo' which is 'Silver Three' or 'Silver the Third'. So 'Kin-ko' would be 'Gold Child/Girl'. ^^;; (Gold + Silver. hee hee) I've posted it before in various ficcage, but there's a break down of the colour names in MK on my Kid reference page: www.mischif.net/1412/cast.htm-it would take a while (since I'm not currently at home) but we could post the 'kana for everyone's names on the site. Would that be helpful to people? -Icka!

And you should really post the translation for both the first name AND the last name since people WILL be curious what they mean.(I still have NO clue what "Keiko" in kanji meansXP)

Hmm, if you mean literately, I would know.
üK‰H‰õé¦ (Kuroba Kaito)
üK = Black ‰H = Feather ‰õ = Fast é¦ = Battle; Competitive
Keiko's name in Kanji is œ¨Žq
I don't know about her last name...which file in Magic Kaito was it mentioned?

It'll prolly take a few weeks due to my current sceduale, (and the fact I don't have internet at home) but hopefully not too long. Can also put up the chapter names in 'kana as well. ^^;;

I don't think it's ever mentioned/explained at all what happened to Aoko's mom. She's simply just not there.

Its like with Kazuha's mom ^^"" ( I'm beginning to think that Gosho is afraid of using female characters).... But actually that means that if someone was to write a fanfic that would be up to the writer? Another thing a little bit off topic I wanted to ask you about > you say that the show in which Toichi dies/explodes is "Koruba Toichi's great escape".... how did you find out what the kanjis said on the banner?
