*A! KAZU*: Just because somebody does not like these stories does not mean that (s)he's no real fan. I also don't like them but not because of the drawings' quality. It's just the fact that there seems to be no relation at all to the whole MC background story. If it was about this story then I guess I would also accept the drawings... But otherwise... Umm... sorry to say that, but if you say, it's not related to DC, than why are all stories made up by Aoyama? He just didn't want to use them, because they are too short (That's why they're called 'Short Stories') But the master himself created them , he just didn't draw them. If you see it that way, then your arguement is kinda wrong...

I read a few of them in my friend's Mangas and they were just so ridiculously easy to solve! (Btw, that's why I didn't think they were done by Aoyama.) But there are also cases from the "real" Conan series which I don't like because they seem useless to me. (Just look at the case with this Mahjongg guy, I think it was vol.15) Maybe that's a a bit unfair, but to read a whole 30-or-something volumes full of - at least in my opinion - "useless" cases would probably be too much for me. Even although I know that there have to be at least some of these cases in the series to make it more "realistic". (He can't run into the MIB on every case, can he?) But a whole volume full of them? Well... (But it's just my opinion, so plz don't feel offended or something! )

Mine is almost the same, even if it sounded to be not like this ^^' I just hate people who say, that the Short Stories are bad but they don't have read them. I know a lot of them - they just say "Err... Looks so bad - dun wanna read it" But I don't mind the drawings (Just look at MK or the First Files of DC, they aren't really better) It's just, that the content is too easy and the cases are sometimes boring. But some are really good ^^ I think they are worth to be read, but there is no need to buy all the Volumes, of course. And even if I'd say "Buy the Short Stories!" Who the **** would run and buy them? Jolly, I think you know, that the Short Stories are published in the "Twister" and now they come out independently ... I bought all the Twisters and now I'm going to buy all Short Story Volumes. And I just do that, because I'm addicted XD

XD I have to admit, I was indeed surprised by this statement. ^^" I just hate people who say, that the Short Stories are bad but they don't have read them. Jolly, I think you know, that the Short Stories are published in the "Twister" and now they come out independently ... I bought all the Twisters and now I'm going to buy all Short Story Volumes. And I just do that, because I'm addicted XD Yup, I know this - that's where I've read them! ;D But honestly - you don't really like them, you've got the Twisters already and now you're gonna buy the volumes? XD You're crazy! Do you really like Conan that much?

@kazu: Erm..... i know that what you're saying looks like the case but plz take a closer look at your book... it says originates from ayoma (meaning based on his original story) not stories written by ayoma *i think*

alien is right.. it says that its originated from not written by.. but this isnt 100% non-dc related.. it starts the same as in shinichi get small because of the black organization.. and some cases from the "special" were made into animations and were included in the dc animated series..

(Nobody bothered about my post earlier. What the heck.)
Don't mind them. If they don't want to see it, let them be. -_-
The special version are just for the cases. People who are detective-addicted (like me) might want them for the cases, not because it's Conan. I'm sure Aoyama-sensei doesn't want people buying his work just because it's his, but it's what there is inside. Never judge a book by its cover, they say. Never buy a book by its cover too.
Another possibility is that his assistants want to do their own little special series for Conan and Aoyama-sensei helped them. *cough* Either way, I like the special version. And looking at the artwork makes you think of your own sometimes (laugh).

And ilaststand and alien, sorry if I got something wrong with the writer thingy ^^''
