tell u something though... the artistry for kaito in DC is way way better than magic kaito.
in DC, he is much more handsome, less kiddish and looks more sophisticated *however u spell it*

if i remember it right, magic kaitou is a first piece before gosho aoyama started DC. actually not a first piece (since there are yaiba and other serires from gosho as well before that), but its done before DC was published so the art has to be a bit different from series.

It's because DC was written later so gosho's art style developed

It's because DC was written later so gosho's art style developed true, plus since magic kaito was the first thing that gosho published and made kaito kid very kiddish to attract readers and also DC is more serious then magic kaito too.

*waves Hi to Angie*
Magic Kaito was Gosho's first series, done around 1987. He did about a chapter a month for about a year, then started on Yaiba and occasionally did a Yaiba chapter. He started on Detective Conan around 1996, by which his art style had changed.
Kid in Magic Kaito is silly, goofy and just plain fun. Kid in Detective Conan is much more serious. The reason for this we're still speculating. Perhaps because the mysterious men in the trenchcoats are chasing after him now? We dunno.
check the Hiest list on my Kid page for a more accurate time line.

And by the way, how many mangas of Kaitou Kid were published ? and does Gosho Aoyama finished the story or he will end it in the same time with D.C?? he only made 3 volumes of MK and one with shouen sunday, no Gosho idd not finish MK by it's self and we believe that when conan ends he might continue with MK!

i like kid to finish in dc better. mk is just so uninteresting without shinichi/conan foiling everything up XP

I have to correct Icka on something. He started on Detective Conan around 1996[...] Conan manga was started in 1994.

I read in a site, that Gosho will end MK after he is done with DC. But I wouldn't mind if MK and DC finish them BOTH at the same time n_n
