My God! There's only three of us on staff here you know.
Well, I would only have one character board, for all characters with seperate threads for each character. Like a fanclub section.
I like the idea of a seperate manga for both the English and Japanese fans, just so the English readers won't be spoiled.
Fangirl section = Over my Dead body. I hate spam, it's a mess to clean up. Off topic is okay, but spam is death. I'd rather have a fanclub section where members can join fanclubs and chat about their favorite characters.
As for other languages, I would rather not have them. If we had too, I would rather just have a Japanese board and an other board. But I would like for the language thread owner to get permission from a mod before they start a thread.
I like the idea of a manga subboard. The Entertainment board is for books too right?
^I like that.
My two cents. Although that means a lot more work for Janni, Fruits and me. We're only HUMAN people.

im an outsider...but i've been a mod before...and subboards make it really hard to moderate because when you have so much...it means more thread to delete and look over....
i would keep this forum as it is...
i agree with Fruits...the "fangirl" is kinda useless...there will definitely be liots of "OMG, [name of character here] IS SO FRICKING HOT!?!?"
as for the language...is it possible to split them into like English, Japanese, Germanic [German, HUngarian etc.] and Roman Language [Latin, Spanish, Portugese etc]

Hungarian isn't a Germanic language, Mizuhara. Besides, Proboards forbids other languages - or am I wrong Fruits? <.<
I think making the boards and changing won't take that much time, but looking after spam and such will take hell more time - -''' Sometimes I never notice a spam thread before Kentaru or somebody else tells me about it.

Slightly unrelated, but...
Hungarian is a Slavic language - the way it's connected to German is because they're both part of the Proto-Indo-European family. XD
I even sometimes think it was a mistake to include English in the Language Board > no one hardly ever posts there and when they do it's mostly spam. If people want to know about English they can just ask their teacher, however those interested in Japanese don't always have the same option.
*slightly mad about narrowly missing you....three hours*grumble* *

sorry..i thought Hungarian was a Germanic language
i think the japanese classroom is useful...the english one?!? not so much...because everyone on this forum have no prob communicating...and even some ppl living in a English environment can have grammatical errors...so i guess its no big deal, as long as everyone can understand you right!?!? if some members have SERIOUS problems with grammar...liek up to a point where we cant understand what they are saying...can PM some native english speakers and ask for help...
i still dont get what the English Board include right now...just grammar right ?!?

Well, yes and no, Janni. You make of it what you will.
User's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity. User's message board and Web site must be in English.
Technically speaking that would be the entire forum's layout, but since there is probably no way to adjust the language settings of the message board, it's probably implied that no other languages may be spoken when posting. Hell, we bend the rules enough with the mp3 board and even the manga board for that matter. Though that is risking it, it's better to be safe than sorry. Then again, take into consideration we haven't really been 'caught' for anything, yet.

That's one of the things I wondered most about when I first came to this board. How is it possible to allow those things and at the same time not allow video links(or was it torrents, I don't remember - it's all copyrighted content any ways)? As of now we have many boards here. So, the way I see it the only real question is "will the board be used frequently enough to warrant it's creation?". Then again, some boards might be useFUL but not used that often (tricky problematic).

Take away the manga board and see what happens. While we try to cut down on illegal business, we also have to think of the welfare of the forum itself. 3/4 of the active members come for the manga. :/ While I can't say why we still have it, or if it would be considered illegal with Viz as the copyright holder for the US distrobution, it's always been here. Ruin a good thing? I think not.
The sharing of mp3s was traditionally not seen as a problem as there were less requests for them overtime with the 'Song Project' thread. However, illegal sharing of videos is far worse in a sense. Illegal distrobuting of torrents, warez, and the likes is certainly frowned upon, which is why if someone is caught posting links to P2P programs even to download things such as music, they get a warning. At least with the Song Project thread, most of the songs haven't been licensed in the US.
You know to be quite honest, I really don't know how this board has survived as long as it has. I wouldn't quite say Proboards doesn't check over all of its forums for rule breakers, but they obviously haven't been looking too close into this one. Yeah, I'm probably jinxing us, but back in the day the new message board Qwerty came up with didn't seem like too bad of an idea. I'm sure though any free forum creators you go to have rules, and people bend them. Pssh.
Yeah, I'm probably overreacting a bit here, and it's not all directed to you Kentaru, I'm just... Kind of confused myself these days. With only just 1 admin and two moderators working, it kind of gets... Well, confusing. Confusing. Though, I should be getting more back on topic...
Okay, so... Fangirl board is definitely out. The character boards still seem like bad ideas to me, and some of the other stuff I mentioned back on page 1 (For the life of me I can't remember). Biggest problem is what Tui and Janni were saying, there's only 3 of us, and only one of us can do all this junk. It's alot of work for one person, so I say, if Janni has the effort and time to do all this crap for stuff I don't even see necessary (sorry =P), then narrow it down to at least 2 things out of all the suggestions to be changed at this time. That sounds fair to Janni and even to Tui and I, right?

This reminds us involving while i recommended to have an image board so that those spam-like matters will not interrupt much more serious arguments within the DC standard portion. My partner and i don't think which has a fangirl board would likely maintain unsolicited mail fully clear of the board.
